First, you must choose a Metabolic Balance® coach who will support you through each of the 4 phases of the program. At your first appointment, your coach will take notes on your medical history and request a blood test. Your coach will provide everything you need to do this. All blood test results and data are compiled and analyzed at the Metabolic Balance® institute where your personal nutrition plan will be created. Your coach will give you a copy of your plan and fully explain all the stages necessary for reaching your goal. Your coach will guide and support you the whole way through the program and will always be on hand to answer questions.

There are four phases:

Phase 1: The preparation phase starts the detoxification process and is key in preparing your metabolism for the next stage of the program. Phase 1 lasts for 2 days.

Phase 2: This strict adjustment phase lasts for a minimum of 14 days. You will have the option to remain in this phase until you have reached your desired goal. During this phase, your metabolism will slowly start to adjust and become more efficient.

Phase 3: This is the relaxed-adjustment phase. During this phase, you can begin to bring in additional foods to your daily meal plan. With your body’s new and heightened sense of awareness, you should instinctively know which foods are right for you. You can also now enjoy an occasional treat meal or even a glass of wine. More important, you will learn how to take a healthy approach to special occasions. Your coach will continue to support you and monitor your progress during this phase.

Phase 4: The maintenance phase is the final phase. You can stay in this phase for the rest of your life by following the already familiar principles. Even at this stage, you will be able to remain in contact with your coach or with us via our Internet forum.

No. The success of Metabolic Balance® depends on supervision by a qualified coach. Coaching has been shown to greatly improve chances of success. All coaches have the specialist knowledge and experience to help you overcome obstacles, and they have proved vital in helping participants reach their goals.

You nutrition plan with Metabolic Balance® is extremely versatile. With the help of your coach, you can easily plan your meals in advance. Your coach will give you tips on being creative and show you how to take meals with you on busy days. In addition, you will learn how to apply the Metabolic Balance® principles when eating at restaurants as well as at home.

Introduction to the success program

It is important to leave gaps between meals by avoiding snacking. Your body needs this time not only to fully digest the last meal but also to rest and to repair. During the time between meals, the body’s metabolism moves into a fat-burning mode. Eating between meals disrupts both metabolism and the normal fat storage and fat-burning process.

No. Once your metabolism has adjusted and you have reached your goal, you will move into the relaxed phase and then the maintenance phase. You will be able to maintain your success by following most of the 8 principles you have learned. Be assured that like most other participants, you will begin to notice which foods suit you best. If at any point you find yourself relapsing, you can simply return to the strict-adjustment phase to get yourself back on track again.

Yes, especially during phase 2. Your personal nutrition plan is not a product of chance but has been been created using your blood values and medical history. Those factors make your plan as unique as your fingerprint. The specified foods support your metabolism and provide you with the nutrients that were previously lacking in your diet. Enjoy trying new foods and being creative with the foods in your plan. Your coach can help you with recipe ideas. In phases 3 and 4, you are actually encouraged to bring in new foods that were not on your food list.

Yes, especially during phase 2, when you should follow your plan to the letter. Once you have reached your goal, you can discuss with your Metabolic Balance® coach how to relax the amounts.

Although you may be eating less food than before, you should still feel satisfied at the end of each meal. This is because the foods you are eating are nutrient dense, so that you are still getting all the nutrients your body needs. It is important to drink sufficient water in between meals to keep feeling energized. If you feel tired during the first few days of the strict-adjustment phase, give yourself and your body time to rest, drink plenty of water, and make sure you get enough sleep.

If for any reason you do not eat any form of animal protein (such as eggs or dairy) or you avoid soya and tofu, then unfortunately, you will be unable to participate in the Metabolic Balance® program.

Yes. That will be taken into consideration during the development of your plan, and adjustments will be made accordingly. Simply by taking part in the program, you will be doing something positive for your health, fitness, and vitality. Please discuss your individual goals with your Metabolic Balance® coach at your first consultation.

It is important to understand that Metabolic Balance® is not so much a diet as it is a nutrition and lifestyle program. Many popular diets often cause a shortage of energy, fats, or carbohydrates, which can result in food cravings and the so-called yo-yo effect. Metabolic Balance® works differently. Your plan is truly your plan. It is produced for you only, by using your unique blood values, your metabolism, and your current nutritional status and is designed to provide you with sufficient energy, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. You will learn instinctively which foods are right for you and which foods make you feel good. This means that your success is then in your own hands because each individual nutrition plan offers a blueprint for long-lasting success.

You can inquire of your coach about the cost of participating in Metabolic Balance® program. The cost may vary regionally and also from coach to coach because various additional services may be included with different coaches.

Your data is used solely for the creation of your personal nutrition plan. All client data is stored and processed by Metabolic Balance®, Inc., in compliance with the regulations of the US HIPAA Privacy Rule and the German equivalents: the Federal Data Protection Act and the Teleservices Data Protection Act. You have the right to request information, corrections, blocking, and deletion of your data at any time. Contact us via e-mail, mail, or fax if you should wish to exercise that right. We do not disclose to third parties any of your personal information—including address and e-mail address—without your express consent. Such consent may be canceled at any time. Service partners, which must receive your data in order to provide the services requested (e.g., the laboratory where the blood sample is taken), are exempt from the regulation. In this case, the volume of transmitted data is reduced to the minimum necessary. We use technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, and unauthorized access.
